Below is a list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding the GameDay Super K. If you see a question that you would like the answer to, simply click on the question and the answer will be revealed.

The GameDay SuperK will consist of two simultaneous 5K distance events, one on Southside Hampton Roads (Dismal Swamp Canal Trail) and one on the Peninsula (Merchants Walk of City Center, Newport News).

Peninsula: There is free parking in the City Center parking garages (map). Please do not park in street parking as you may encounter difficulty when leaving if the races are still going on.

Southside: Please park in the main parking lots at the entrance of the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail (map).

Both races will start at 9AM.

You may register for both races HERE

  • Long sleeve tee
  • Custom finisher medal
  • Personalized bib, if registered before January 1, 2020
  • Chip-timed race

The course maps can be found here for the Peninsula course & here for the Southside course.

Both courses are walker-friendly, flat, and out-and-back.

We will have a rolling start for both races and ask that you place yourself near your estimated mile pace. When you register, you will enter your average 1 mile time to place you in the appropriate corral. Those running with strollers and walking are encouraged to start in the back of your assigned corral.

Yes! All of our races are timed using the MyLaps RFID bib tag technology. This tag is attached to your bib and records your time when you cross the Start/Finish line.

Those running with strollers and walking are encouraged to start in the back of your assigned corral. We ask that you take extra precaution for your safety, your child's safety and for the safety of the runners around you.

Wheelchair/hand-cyclists/duo teams will be allowed on a limited basis. Please contact us if you will be participating as a wheelchair/hand-cycle/duo team.

Pets, bicycles, skateboards, in-line skates, etc., are NOT permitted in the races.

Yes! Walkers are welcome in all the races. However, there are no awards categories for walkers.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer refunds for any reason whatsoever.

If you would like to transfer your registration to another runner, please email us at raceteam@flatoutevents.com. Due to insurance and liability requirements, the new runner must complete a new registration. The cost to transfer is $20.

To defer your entry, please email raceteam@flatoutevents.com. Please note there is a $20 fee to defer. You may only defer a race once, for example: if you defer the 2020 event, you cannot defer again in 2021.

While we strongly encourage you to pre-register online, race day registration will begin at 6:30am at the runner resolution tent located near the start line. We will be expecting a heavy crowd that morning, and online registration will allow you to skip the lines.

Credit cards may be used for online and walk-up registration.

Non-monetary awards will be given to the top three overall male and female runners at both locations. In lieu of age group awards, each runner on the winning side will receive an additional medal (at a later date).

There are no minimum or maximum age restrictions.
